A vibrant Workshop on Rava Tribal Cultural Development was held at Poro Eco Park, jointly organized by The Art of Living – YLTP, Yugantar Pariwar, and supported by the Alipurduar District Administration. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 100 folk artists from different tribal communities including Rava, Garo, Asur, and Tamang.

The workshop became a lively platform for cultural exchange and creative learning. Artists came together to share, upgrade, and refine the traditional Rava dance forms, ensuring that these unique expressions continue to thrive in modern times. Participants not only practiced their traditional art but also gained confidence to represent their culture at national and international events in the future.
Distinguished guests such as Mrs. Ballari Dasgupta (Headmistress, Poro Phaskadanga High School), Sri Saran Lama (Assistant Commandant, Retd. BSF), Sri Matul Rabha (Eminent Rabha Folk Artist), and Sri Manoj Gattani Ji (Social Activist) graced the occasion with their valuable presence and encouragement.
The workshop’s main aim was to promote and preserve the Rabha tribal folk culture and traditions, while also inspiring the youth to take pride in their heritage. The collective spirit of learning and celebration made the event a true reflection of the Dooars’ cultural richness.
Special thanks were extended to Sri Matul Rava and the Kocha Bosini Londok Team for their continuous support and arrangements, and to WB YLTP SCM Ajad Bhujel along with all YLTP volunteers for their tireless efforts in making the event a grand success.
With such inspiring participation and community enthusiasm, this workshop marked another milestone in the journey to revive, celebrate, and sustain indigenous art forms across the Dooars region.
