The vibrant folk artists of Banachaya Village representing the Tamang cultural group proudly showcased their traditional Tamang Folk Dance at the Dooars Literary and Cultural Festival held at Panijhora, Rajabhatkhawa in Alipurduar District.
The event, organized by Mundary Academy in collaboration with the District Information and Cultural Department, Government of West Bengal, brought together over 15 tribal communities from the Dooars region, including the Rava, Garo, Toto, Limbu, Mech, Oraon, Munda, Santhal, Dukpa, and others.
Poets, writers, and folk cultural artists enriched the festival with their performances and expressions, celebrating the essence of diversity and indigenous heritage.
This participation marks a significant achievement for the Banachaya cultural team, made possible through the continuous efforts of Yugantar Pariwar, who have been working tirelessly to preserve and promote the region’s rich tribal traditions.
— A proud moment of cultural harmony and heritage celebration from the heart of the Dooars.
