“Tourism and Peace” found its true expression amidst nature, culture, and community spirit at Gangutia BANCHAYA Village!

World Tourism Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and unity through a series of vibrant activities at BANCHAYA Model Village. The event beautifully reflected the diverse culture of the region through traditional music, dance, and art. The local residents — true cultural ambassadors of the village — captivated everyone with their mesmerizing performances, folk songs, and heartfelt expressions of heritage.
The people of Banchaya extended their heartfelt gratitude to Rtn. Manoj Ji Sharma, Rotary Club Siliguri Midtown, Rtn. G. Subbaiya, and the entire Rotary team for their gracious presence and generous contributions — including T-shirts for youth and food gifts for children.
As part of the celebration, the community came together for village cleaning drives, tree plantation programs, and cultural showcases, reinforcing the message of harmony between people and nature.
Special thanks were extended to Sri Saran Lama Ji (Social Activist & Retired BSF Assistant Commandant), Smt. Aparna Mitra Di (Art of Living, DDC Member), Sri Om Lohar Ji (Social Activist), and several others for gracing the occasion with their valuable presence.
A heartfelt acknowledgment to Sri Arun Kumar for his coordination and arrangements, and to Mani Mikma Waiba, Ashok Lama, Anuradha Lama, Sidharth Lama (Bittu), and Madan Lama for their tireless efforts in making the event a grand success.
The celebration concluded with energetic performances by folk groups from Bhatpara and Banchaya, leaving everyone inspired and proud of the village’s cultural legacy.
✨ BANCHAYA continues to thrive as a living canvas of art, tradition, and sustainable tourism — where every celebration strengthens the bond between people and the planet. 🌿
